More than 30 tribal militants have reportedly been killed by security forces in India’s Manipur state. The security force operation followed a week-long ethnic unrest in Manipur, as members of the Kuki and Naga tribes clashed with the ethnic majority Meitei people. The tribes were angry at the prospect that more guaranteed government jobs and benefits will be given to the Meitei community.
